Ambitious companies can become a Nature Positive Partner through Your.EARTH for a named programme and specific site once they meet the established requirements. Regenerate the Economy helps connect that ambition with organisation, value chain collaboration and delivery.
We hate the term ESG. Getting things right. That is what matters.
We need everyone. Without proper care for our environment, we have a much bigger problem. And governance simply means putting management structures in place that work in practice.
Your.EARTH is an ESG programme for companies with a practical focus: getting things right and making a demonstrable impact. Regenerate the Economy connects this with your strategy, quality management and value chain. We agree on people, resources, delivery and results.
E
Take proper care of our environment.
Healthy soil, clean water, a liveable climate and room for nature are fundamental. We connect environmental care with practical measures and track what changes. Nature restoration and Scope 3 emissions each require their own evidence.
S
We need everyone.
People on the work floor, suppliers, customers, residents and land managers. Everyone brings knowledge and experience. Make sure people can participate, are heard and understand their contribution. Make the intended local value tangible too.
G
Management structures that work.
Governance is simply good management: clear responsibilities, workable agreements and decisions that get implemented. People know who is accountable for what. Funding is traceable, results are discussed and we adjust where needed.
Show what your contribution changes.
An impact report brings together contributions, spending, delivery and nature development for each site. The partner method structures the nature component; social goals and indicators are agreed for each programme. It provides evidence for your own ESG story without automatically covering a complete ESG reporting framework.
The Partner Declaration covers named contracts and sites. It does not state that the whole company is nature positive. Your.EARTH checks funding, the plan, delivery and records; a specialist measurement partner substantiates the nature data.
01 / MONEY
Every euro has a purpose.
An auditable 2% calculation, ring-fenced records, matching confirmed in writing and expenditure according to the approved site plan.
Contract · fund records · accountant’s report
02 / PLAN
Restoration starts with a good plan.
The landowner and a qualified ecologist develop measures that go beyond what legislation, permits, contracts and existing management already require.
Screening · additionality · approved site plan
03 / BASELINE
First, understand what is there.
Fixed monitoring plots for interventions, regular restoration and undisturbed reference. A documented method, coordinates, photographs and traceable source data.
Baseline report · monitoring plots · raw data
04 / DELIVERY
Demonstrate what happens.
Record implementation and deviations. Demonstrate the origin of planting material. Document equipment, emission-free operating hours, completion and long-term stewardship.
Delivery log · origin records · stewardship agreement
05 / OUTCOME
Measure what changes.
Remeasurements track change compared with standard restoration. Year 1 describes establishment; from year 3, Nature Yield is reported with a range. Zero and negative results remain visible too.
The requirements below come from the working draft. For each site, we define scope, responsibilities, evidence and assessment dates in advance.
01 / Traceable financing
2% of the qualifying contract value defined in writing. The calculation must be reconstructable from the contract.
Transfer within 60 days of each invoicing event; record the amount, contract and site.
Your.EARTH’s one-to-one match is confirmed in writing at signing. This is a condition of the proposed model, not confirmation that matching is already available for a specific project.
Release only after a decision on an approved site plan. The full 2% and match are allocated to field measures, restoration and stewardship.
Programme, measurement, advisory and verification fees are invoiced and reported separately. An accountant reports annually on the agreed financial procedures.
02 / Nature gains beyond required restoration
Screening of the site, ownership, permits, nature status and existing management.
Every measure demonstrably exceeds existing legal, permit, contractual and management requirements. Required restoration does not count as additional nature gain.
A design developed with the land manager and a qualified ecologist, suited to habitat, soil and local species.
Objectives, indicators and thresholds for corrective action defined in advance.
A signed management agreement for the full measurement window: five years, or ten for slow-developing habitats. This is agreed before funds are released.
03 / A baseline and comparable monitoring plots
The concept places the baseline after the works and before restoration or nature measures. Required restoration and additional measures remain separately substantiated.
A habitat map covers the entire treatment area and control strip. The draft uses at least eight paired quadrats in each area and two reference plots; the final measurement design requires ecological substantiation.
Fixed coordinates and photographic points. Monitoring covers, among other things, habitat extent, habitat condition, vegetation, invasive species and management.
A monitoring partner supplies raw data, photographs and a signed methodology statement. Additional species surveys and eDNA can deepen the assessment.
04 / Careful delivery and long-term stewardship
A dated delivery log: what, where, by whom and with which equipment. Deviations are recorded and approved.
Native, regionally appropriate planting and seed material with traceable origin.
Reporting of energy source and the share of emission-free machine hours. Fully emission-free delivery is an additional ambition in the concept.
No pesticides or synthetic fertilisers in programme areas. Management arrangements, for example on mowing and invasive species, are recorded annually.
Signed completion with photographs and clear responsibility for subsequent stewardship.
05 / Measure results, including disappointing ones
Year 1 produces an establishment report, not a Nature Yield figure. Remeasurements follow in years 3 and 5 and, for slow-developing habitats, year 10. Season, methods and measurement locations remain comparable.
Nature Yield is the change in habitat units in the treatment area minus the change that would have occurred without additional measures. The calculation uses the habitat map, area, distinctiveness and condition; the control strip and regional monitoring support the comparison.
Reporting by site, with measurement years and an uncertainty range. Zero and negative results are also published; no extrapolation to unmeasured land.
Verified gain requires two consecutive remeasurements meeting the pre-set target condition, a meaningful minimum gain, consistent direction and corroboration by an additional species indicator. This is a pre-set verification rule; the range is reported separately.
If an action threshold is not met, a documented and approved corrective action follows within 90 days. Source data and photographs are retained for at least ten years after the final repeat measurement.
06 / Clear checks, governance and independent verification
A signed agreement between the company, landowner and Your.EARTH. A programme board representing all three, with documented decisions and at least two meetings a year.
A conflicts-of-interest register for approval, measurement and assessment. Advice and verification are separate roles.
The programme board appoints the independent assessor. The assessor has no role in design, measurement or other programme activities and, under the concept, has had no commercial relationship with the partner or landowner in the preceding two years.
Under the approved method, Your.EARTH issues declarations for rungs 1 and 2. Only rung 3 is independently verified: the verifier assesses all mandatory requirements as well as the nature outcomes. Your.EARTH, the measurement partner and affiliated organisations do not fulfil that independent role.
Annual desk and site checks precede Programme Board approval of the Annual Report. For rung 3, the independent verifier also checks the raw data and visits the site.
BUILDING THE EVIDENCE
Demonstrate commitment. Earn the results.
One ladder with three rungs, based on mandatory evidence. The proposed route progresses from substantiated commitment to reported outcomes and ultimately independent verification.
RUNG 1 / COMMITMENT
Nature Positive Partner
01 money, plan and baseline
For at least one site, funding, plan and baseline are complete. Delivery is under way and a valid Partner Declaration is in place. Your.EARTH and the measurement partner check the evidence.
RUNG 2 / REPORTED
Nature Yield reported
Year 3 first outcome figure
All five evidence links are complete and the Annual Report is approved. The first Nature Yield is reported by site with its measurement year and range. Zero results and deterioration are reported too.
RUNG 3 / VERIFIED
Nature Yield verified
From year 5 year 10 for slow habitats
Two consecutive remeasurements meet the pre-set verification rule. An independent verifier checks all mandatory requirements, the calculation and the site. Management remains secured.
Measurement years and thresholds are working values from version 0.3. Ecological calibration, the measurement protocol and approval are needed before formal launch. This page confirms no issued declarations.
A STATEMENT REQUIRES UPKEEP
Valid for a defined scope. Maintained over time.
The concept provides for twelve-month statements, annual surveillance and a full reassessment every three years.
The statement specifies the site, claim level, validity and any conditions. Public use of the mark requires a valid statement number and a link to the corresponding register entry. This register and the statement procedure are part of the proposed arrangements.
No statement with a major nonconformity.
Missing mandatory evidence or a breach of additionality or independence prevents admission. An existing statement is suspended; under the concept, claims must be withdrawn within 30 days.
Improvements receive a deadline.
Minor documentation shortcomings that do not change the outcome may result in a conditional statement, with correction within 90 days.
Evidence must be renewed.
Under the draft, a declaration lapses if the next Annual Report is not approved by the Programme Board within fifteen months of the previous report.
THE RIGHT CLAIM FOR THE RIGHT EVIDENCE
A partner for nature restoration. Clear about what that means.
About commitment and the agreed site.
A valid statement can support a specific claim about participation, contribution and measured results. An outcome claim identifies the site, period, measurement result and supporting evidence.
No statement about the whole business.
The partnership does not certify an organisation as a whole as nature-positive. An ISO certificate, donation or client relationship does not automatically confer partner status. It does not demonstrate climate neutrality or carbon removal either.
A defined first application.
Version 0.3 focuses on the partner route for terrestrial sites in the Netherlands. The method is open to contractors who meet the requirements. Marine and freshwater sites, sites outside the Netherlands and carbon accounting are out of scope.
The Partner Declaration is not an ISO certificate or a general nature label. The draft provides only for defined business-to-business use; consumer-facing labels await the required scheme arrangements and approval. Agreements with measurement and verification parties still need confirmation.
